Thorrenc
Located a few kilometers from Annonay and the Rhône Valley, Thorrenc is a small haven of peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the villages, ideal for a quiet stroll in the heart of nature.
Born on an ancient route linking the Rhône Valley to the Annonay plateau, Thorrenc still bears the marks of this past as a place of passage and watchfulness. Its medieval castle dominates the village with its 14th and 15th-century towers. Nearby, the Church of Sainte-Marie plays a part in the local history.
Below, the magnificent Thorrenc railway viaduct – late 19th century – spreads its stone arches over the valley and is today one of the emblems of the village.
A popular spot for hikers, cyclists and photography enthusiasts, the Thorrenc viaduct has become a strong symbol of the village, combining heritage and nature.
