The Château de la Rivoire, built in the first half of the 18th century, was designed as a pleasure residence in the heart of a farm. Group visits from October to June (minimum 10 people) and individual visits in July and September.
Built between 1728 and 1740, embellished between 1750 and 1760, the Château de la Rivoire is shaped by a double inspiration: that of the bastides of Aix and that of the "follies" of Ile de France. It reflects the tastes and history of a family that lived for several decades in Provence before dividing its time between the Cance valley and Versailles, where the Marquis de la Rivoire held a position with the Dauphine in the middle of the 1830th century. , Maria Joseph of Saxony. Etienne de Canson then his son made the Château de la Rivoire their residence from XNUMX to the first years of the XNUMXth century. Very strongly inspired by bastide towns, it reflects the itinerary, from Provence to Versailles, of a family from Vivarais who held office at court.
