Isidore Cuminal, born in 1863, was Mayor of Serrières, President of the General Council and Senator of Ardèche. He donated his real estate (including sailors' crosses) to the town in order to exhibit them in the Mariners' Museum.

An old Serrièroise family, it was well known in the world of sailors in the time of towing.
Originally from Serrières, Isidore Cuminal (1863-1938) was mayor of the town for a long time. General adviser then president of the council from 1922 to 1927, and senator of the Ardèche from 1920 to 1938, he defended technical education, in particular the organization of learning and the defense of secular schools.
He challenged the government on industrial technical education. He also chaired the development council of the Conservatory of Arts and Crafts. We owe him numerous reports on public education and on the defense of technical education.
