Presentation

A village located at the confluence of the Nant and Malpertuis rivers, Satillieu is home to a rich historical past. Many hiking and cycling trails are marked to enjoy the surrounding landscapes.

The historic heart of the village is surrounded by the remains of the ramparts, the town hall located in the 18th century castle houses two rooms classified as historical monuments: the "Don Quixote" room with its magnificent tapestries and the Marquise's bedroom.
The industrial past of the silk factories also left its mark on the village, which have now disappeared. The memories of the inhabitants surrounding these activities have been the subject of a collection and an exhibition.
Food lovers will find local produce in the village in food shops and restaurants as well as from our producers: cheeses, cold meats, etc. The weekly market gives pride of place to local food.
