Presentation

Thanks to the illustrious Boissy d'Anglas, this former chapel of the Notre-Dame de l'Aumône hospital, the city's first hospital (1188), will become an official place of worship for Protestants.

These buildings belonged to the Protestant Jean Etoile, who in 1650 sold the premises to the Jesuits, who had come to defend Catholic doctrines. The latter made a door of communication with the neighboring building which was the Chapelle de l'Aumône, belonging to the first hospital of the city. This chapel was massacred during the Wars of Religion and restored in 1655, assigned to the Congregation of White Penitents, Catholics, until the Revolution.
