The Valrhona Chocolate City is a rich and experiential place where chocolate is revealed, shared and tasted! Visitors come to discover the secrets of chocolate and enjoy this gourmet, educational and multi-sensory stopover with, at the end, the promise of experiencing a moment of indulgence with family or friends.
This year, a new space dedicated to the history of cocoa complements the existing scenography on the 1st floor with several interactive activities.
For its 10th anniversary, the Cité is hosting a mysterious ancient vase from Ecuador. This vase was discovered during archaeological excavations and demonstrates the domestication of cacao in the Amazon.
Ecuadorian more than 5000 years BC. BC, and therefore predates the Maya.
The Cité du Chocolat Valrhona has a replica of the vase, authorized by the National Institute of Ecuadorian Heritage.

The Cité du Chocolat opened its doors in 2013 in Tain l'Hermitage. Located on the historic site of the Chocolaterie, the Cité reveals to the general public the behind the scenes of the Grand Chocolat. During a gourmet and surprising stroll in the heart of the Cité, you will discover all the secrets of chocolate making and the range of know-how of Valrhona and its customers.

Labeled "Accueil Vélo", La Cité du Chocolat Valrhona offers its visitors the opportunity to park their bikes in a dedicated shelter offering the possibility of recharging electric bikes.

In 2024, La Cité du Chocolat Valrhona obtained the "Sustainable Entertainment: Responsible Emotion" label. This label, awarded by the National Union of Leisure, Attraction and Cultural Spaces (SNELAC), highlights the work accomplished to reduce the environmental impact, promote social inclusion and promote a circular economy. Certified since 2020, Valrhona is proud to be a B-Corp because this committed brand approach has been an integral part of its culture and its DNA for many years. B-Corp is a very demanding label recognizing companies that have a positive social and environmental impact.
