Presentation
Virginie Lemoine has taken on the true story of Sylvin Rubinstein, a flamenco dancer who disguised himself as a woman to kill Nazis.
As a director, she subtly leads this tragedy where the turmoil of History sometimes transforms ordinary people into heroes. Sylvin Rubinstein, who only expected from life to dance flamenco with his twin sister Maria, joins the resistance. Haunted by the disappearance of his sister in deportation, he takes on her appearance, and it is in the costume of Dolores, Maria's stage name, that he performs the most important acts of resistance. At the end of his life, Sylvin Rubinstein lifts the veil on his destiny, for fear that the memory of Maria will fade with him. A poignant play carried by actors and dancers whose acting power is on a par with this vibrant story.
