Presentation
Mourad Merzouki is always looking for the encounter that arouses curiosity and desire. The idea for this choreographic performance was born from a meeting with the artistic director of the Saté-âtre company, Saté Khachatryan.
Together, they imagine a show based on the cult film by the great Armenian filmmaker Sergei Paradjanov entitled Sayat nova: The Color of Pomegranates. This Franco-Armenian show is a tribute to the centenary of the birth of this outstanding filmmaker. Aiming to create a dialogue between cultures and the arts, this creation with 7 dancers mixes hip-hop with traditional Armenian dances and music against a backdrop of electronic music. It gives a strong place to the image, allowing us to discover the poetic universe of Sergei Paradjanov and, more broadly, Armenian culture in all its colors. A wave of emotion runs through this show, as Mourad Merzouki knows how to do.
