Presentation

On stage, dresses.

Evening, bridal, bedroom, everyday, ball. Sequined, long, puffy, fitted, too big. Dresses that fly, that shine, that crack, that twirl, that trail or fall. Empire dresses, with whalebones, the kind that waltz to Leonard Cohen, or dresses in tears, badly sewn, light, without underwire, tied at the stomach. And then dresses alone, rebellious,
cheerful against a backdrop of electronic bass. On stage, there are five of them wearing these dresses. Five who sweat because they are alive. A rising figure in contemporary dance but already recognized for her personality, Leïla Ka signs her first group piece. The choreographer reveals and dresses, in all the
sense of the term, the fragilities, the revolts and the multiple identities carried by five women who are nevertheless dancers and forty dresses. She offers us a lively, striking and playful ballet.
