Presentation
Need some fresh air? Want Culture and Nature at the same time? Escape to Ardèche Verte with the discovery of Annonay, the City of Inventors!
For a weekend, take a train (TER) to Péage-de-Roussillon station (Isère) then hop on a bus (Car Région line X75) towards Annonay (Bus station) in Ardèche.
Want to come by bike? Take the TER + Vélo service on board to the Péage-de-Roussillon station then follow the D4 towards Sablons (Isère), cross the majestic blue bridge of Serrières and you are in Ardèche!
From Serrières, follow the D86 towards Sarras then enter the Vallée de la Cance (D270). Through this valley with preserved landscapes join the Via Fluvia at the Lac de Vert in Vernosc-lès-Annonay which will take you to the town center of Annonay.
Not in a hurry? From Sablons take the Via Rhôna towards Saint-Vallier then from Rue du Rhône you join the D86 towards Sarras to find the Vallée de la Cance.
Day 1
Arrival on Saturday morning, check-in at the Hôtel du Midi (luggage, bicycles) then discover the Annonay market and the historic heart of the City of Inventors in complete freedom. Let yourself be guided by our heritage trail or have fun with our digital treasure hunt “The Inventor’s Lost Plan”.
Peckish ? Take advantage of the market to put together a picnic with our local products that you can enjoy in the magnificent Parc Mignot nearby.
Want to be served? Enjoy the restaurants and their terraces at Place des Cordeliers, place of the first hot air balloon flight, invented in Annonay.
Because in Annonay the great outdoors is never far away, leave from the town center for the Montmiandon hike. Dominating the city, this 8km walk will offer you in complete tranquility wide panoramas of the landscapes of Ardèche Verte.
For cyclists, a “Green and Inventive Annonay” discovery bike loop is at your disposal.
Relaxation, recovery and free dinner in town
Day 2
Sunday morning, wake up gently. Take the time for a good breakfast at the Hotel to start the day well. Plan your picnic (bakery next to the Hotel) then set off in complete freedom to explore the Via Fluvia towards the paper-making town of Vidalon. Enjoy this valley at your own pace, both natural and imbued with the city's industrial heritage, on foot, by bike or in a fun way with our game “The enchanted spell of the Via Fluvia”
Picnic along the greenway
In the afternoon, in the birthplace of the Montgolfier brothers, in the heart of the Royal Manufacture, the Canson & Montgolfier Stationery Museum will make you relive the history of stationery with its moving machines and discover the incredible innovations brought by these great families of inventors.
Return via Via Fluvia to the Bus Station
