La Providence was built in the 17th century by Thomas Fourel, a royal notary. His descendants enlarged and embellished it to make it a private mansion, occupied in the 19th century by the sister of the last Marquis de Satillieu, before becoming the Novitiate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph who transformed the house into a "household center" in the 20th century.

We have already renovated most of it, preserving the historical character of the place, in particular the passage of the sisters and the memory they left in the village. A few rooms remain to be finalized. We must keep the traces of the past and the charm of the old stones!

Logistics
The ground floor is dedicated to young people with a large games room including ping-pong, table football, molkky, darts, pétanque, as well as a wide variety of board games. A large living room is also there, opening onto a courtyard equipped with a swimming pool secured by a sliding terrace. The house is entirely adapted for children. With its fifty rooms and twenty more nooks, it promises beautiful and long hide-and-seek games for young and old alike!

On the first floor: three spacious double bedrooms, one with its own bathroom. There is also a bedroom with two single beds. This floor also includes a library and bleachers for impromptu shows by the grandchildren or movie nights!

On the second floor: two double bedrooms, a large dormitory with nine beds (three bunk beds). This floor includes an intimate living room, an equipped music room (harmonium, drums, djembe), a large kitchen/dining room and a back kitchen equipped with professional equipment. Direct access to the terraces located at the back of the house allows large tables around a spacious plancha.

On the third floor: a living room and another dormitory with four beds.
Finally, an apartment with independent access opening onto the terraces which can accommodate up to eight people and which includes a living room, a spare kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub.
The house can be rented alone without the apartment, but not the apartment alone.

No party, no funeral of newly engaged couples.

To come Just an hour from Lyon, this charming house is nestled in the heart of a typical village in the Ardèche Verte region, close to iconic sites worth exploring. You'll find plenty of local shops and can take advantage of this location as a starting point for countless walks and hikes.
