"The marking of the thirteen loops, crossing the department from North to South, was carried out by the services of the General Council , with specific signage: altitude, elevation gain, mileage to the pass…", explains Anne-Laure Dardun, from the Ardèche Tourist Development Agency.
The national "Accueil Vélo" (Cyclist Welcome) label , awarded by France Vélo Tourisme and notably to the Val d'Ay Tourist Office in Lalouvesc and the Ardèche Hermitage Tourist Office in Saint Félicien, connects cyclists with offerings tailored to their needs. Along the routes, accommodations are certified and commit to providing a personalized and attentive welcome to cyclists, offering services, facilities, and advice. These accommodations are characterized by several advantages: being located less than 5 km from a cycling route; holding a label ( Gîtes de France, Clévacances, etc.) or classification; and offering overnight stays to meet the needs of touring cyclists.

Although the legendary Ardéchoise race takes place every year in June, the circuits of Northern Ardèche (race in June open to electric bikes, e-bikes ) are usable throughout the year.
The Ardéchoise brings together thousands of participants every year. This race is the leading mountain road cycling event in Europe. Since 1992, it has made the Ardèche region a must-visit destination for cycle touring . The June race is a major cycling celebration throughout the region. Volunteers, and many others, contribute to the event in a festive and vibrant atmosphere, creating an unforgettable experience for cyclists and athletes alike . The diverse landscapes of the Ardèche , along with its numerous iconic mountain passes , are explored through 80 different routes and variations.
An event designed for everyone
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or not, the Ardéchoise race is first and foremost a celebration where everyone is welcome. And yes, it's accessible by e-bike (electric-assist bicycle adapted for the mid-mountain terrain) on the Wednesday routes . Similarly, younger riders have their own routes and can register for the Ardéchoise des Jeunes (Youth Ardéchoise ). The permanent " On the Roads of the Ardéchoise" signage offers a chance to train before the big day. It's the perfect opportunity for those who enjoy preparing for sporting challenges, or for those who prefer to escape and take time to reflect in the vast natural landscapes.

The kilometers unfold, full of promise, with panoramic views of the Alps , the Mézenc , and the Ardèche Mountains . Winding roads plunge into the Doux gorges, climbing up the upper valleys of the Cance and Ay rivers. Places to visit and heritage sites abound in each charming village. We pause before a small church before enjoying a meal at one of the many excellent restaurants, sampling local products (a Saint Régis cheese, " Taste the Ardèche, " for the road), and then, of course, meeting new people…
