Forest environments interspersed with deep valleys dug by the Ay, this space has managed to preserve a part of mystery and offers very beautiful viewpoints. The old beech groves, the chirats and the waterways are home to remarkable flora and fauna.

The Upper Valleys of Cance and Ay are classified as Sensitive Natural Areas.
You can take advantage of it in a thousand and one ways, by bike crisscrossing the small roads of the Ardèche, on foot or on horseback by surveying the marked trails from the surrounding heights or aboard a hot air balloon basket.
You will find the hiking trails in the topo guides available at the Tourist Office.
According to the legend of Ay, a shepherdess would have fallen into the water. In her fall, she cried "Aie! Notre-Dame! Aie!". An invisible hand stopped her in her fall and she was saved. Hence the name given to the river and the site.

Accessible during the fishing season with its No kill routes, the two natural rivers are remarkable and will allow you to fully enjoy nature.
