Presentation

This park of nearly 7000 m2, shelters a magnificent French garden around two basins as well as a wilder part. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful public park in the city, referenced in the “Parks and Gardens of France”.

Before being a public park, Mignot was a private garden. All the current public parks of the city have a private origin because they result from the sale or the donation of old domains surrounding the bourgeois villas, which had been eccentric during the industrial revolution in order not to have to undergo the inconveniences of it (nauseant odors for example).
The Mignot family kept this garden for 150 years until 1943, when the town of Annonay acquired it to make it a public park (May 7). The park has therefore kept the name of this family.
