Presentation

Very rare element of built heritage in France. It is a cloister building, built in red brick in 1852 by Canon Courty, who, on his return from several trips to Italy, was inspired by Giotto's frescoes.

It is the most characteristic monument of the town. Campo Santo means consecrated field in Italian. It was built by Canon Courty, parish priest, who had made many trips to northern Italy where the style of the cemeteries and the frescoes by Giotto had impressed him extremely.
Completely restored in 1998.
