Presentation

An old fortified village to discover with Les Compagnons du Patrimoine! Do not hesitate to contact them for a guided tour with enthusiasts of old stones. They know Boulieu inside out!

Fortified village flanked by 10 towers, 7 of which are still visible, the surrounding walls are very identifiable. Built on a gently sloping hill, 420 m above sea level, its location at the foot of the small Colombier mountain, which shelters it from the north winds, the solidity of its towers, the thickness of its walls, made a safe and pleasant place in troubled times. A large number of very important families had settled there.
