Presentation

The gourmet history of the Pays de Lamastre offers an exquisite immersion in the delights of Ardèche cuisine, the art of living, and the lush landscapes, thus stimulating the five senses.

DAY 1 - Lamastre of yesterday and today
Between the Gorges du Doux and the gates of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Natural Park, Lamastre is a pleasant little town known for its weekly market which has existed for 400 years. It's a real journey through time through the different stands, their history, their color, their smell,... After having walked the aisles of the market, go to Parc Seignobos or to one of our partner restaurants to taste some Ardèche specialties: the creek, the caillette or even the tomme in salad. To discover Lamastre in the past and today, head to the Pays de Lamastre tourist office to pick up the “Lamastre en Lumières” discovery trail.
At 17 p.m., “Les Bergers des Chaupous” welcomes you for a 30 hour visit to their sheepfold. Take the opportunity to taste and buy farm products: tomme de berger, pastrou, yogurt, ice cream...

DAY 2 - From the train to the chestnut grove
From Lamastre, discover the Doux valley as far as Boucieu-le-Roi. The Ardèche Verte will be offered to you during this 14 km rail ride by alternating railcar and steam train in direct correspondence! You will also have the opportunity to cross the 45th parallel north, the point is equidistant between the North Pole and the equator.
Lunch in one of our partner restaurants. Let yourself be tempted by the famous Lou Pisadou, a frangipane garnished with chestnuts placed on a base of sweet pastry, accompanied by a chestnut cream and an almond dacquoise. This is THE travel cake par excellence!
After your lunch break, opt for the “Follow the train” trail, a treasure hunt lasting approximately one hour (3 km) to be picked up at the Pays de Lamastre tourist office.
At 15:30 p.m., head to “La Ferme du Châtaignier” for a guided tour of the chestnut grove and the processing workshop. Thanks to the interpretation trail, you will discover the work of the Grange family over 7 generations! A real treasure of history for the Pays de Lamastre!

DAY 3 - The Pays de Lamastre and its five senses
Direction Nozières and its magnificent panorama “Le Balcon du Doux” to admire among other things the peaks of Mont Blanc and Mont Ventoux but also the Ardèche plateau. After contemplating the view and visiting the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, gain altitude towards the Miniature Village of Col du Buisson. Perched 920 meters above sea level, this granite village was built by a retired stone lover.
Then direction Lafarre, a village built on a rocky outcrop. From the top of its 733 meters above sea level, enjoy the tranquility of the place.
For lunch, head to Les Truites d'Andaure in Labatie-d'Andaure. You can choose to fish your own trout and then prepare them on the plancha (plancha reservation required) or buy them on site. The tranquility of the place reflects the state of mind of the village. Do not hesitate to stop in the pretty perched village (Possibility also to eat in one of our partner restaurants).
Finally, head to the charming village of Désaignes to enjoy a guided tour of the castle-museum. A true medieval parenthesis in the heart of the Ardèche. Admire the XNUMXth century castle and its spiral staircase, its collection of various tools, its kitchen, etc. You will continue with a tasting of local products in the cellar of the castle, a real showcase of the culinary heritage of the territory, something to delight your taste buds. !
