Historical reconstruction of the First Hot Air Balloon Flight

Go back in time by participating in the historical reconstruction of the first hot air balloon flight on the Place des Cordeliers in Annonay and celebrate this historic date.

Since 1983, which marked the bicentenary of this discovery, a faithful and costumed reconstruction has taken place every year in Annonay. Organized by the association “Les Montgolfières d’Annonay”, this event has now become a highlight of local life, and without a doubt, an event not to be missed! A replica of the paper balloon, heated with straw, is displayed in period costumes on the historic site of the first flight, i.e. the Place des Cordeliers, in the heart of Annonay.

From 10 a.m., enjoy musical time by several collectives, a brass band and the intervention of Calixte de Nigremont actor and local entertainer.
