Presentation

As part of the cultural events of Saint-Joseph de Cance, exhibition on the organs and harmoniums of the Annonay basin.

The organ is a multifaceted wind instrument whose characteristic is to produce sounds using sets of sound pipes tuned to a defined range and powered by a blower, each pipe emitting a sound of unique pitch and timbre.

In the family of keyboard instruments of which the organ is a part, we find the harmonium: a musical instrument with wind, free reeds, keyboard and blower.
The Annonay basin has the particularity of having a rich heritage of pipe organs and harmoniums.

The exhibition proposed by the Renouveau des Orgues d'Annonay association aims to introduce these instruments at the technical and historical level, their geographical location and the Catholic liturgy in partnership with the Bienheureux Gabriel Longueville parish.
