The Saint Exupéry library in Annonay launched a challenge to the illustrator Loren Bes: run a workshop to beautify concrete!

Loren Bes is an illustrator. In addition to illustrating books (children's books and comics), sketching the landscapes of these trips (distant or local) in his sketchbooks, making posters for various festivals, he likes to paint.

Fresco on walls (in schools, in children's rooms), wooden panels, rusty sheets, fridges, caravans, and even 4Ls from Africa. All these supports are possible for creation, and any medium: spray paint, acrylic, gouache, but not watercolor. Watercolor is for books and paper.

Located in the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Park, he takes great inspiration from nature, rivers, old stone buildings, characteristic chestnut trees, wild plants and the insects he encounters. A mixture therefore between a wild culture of deep Ardèche where he lives, and modernity of the cities which he likes to explore and color.

When he came to the last Youth Book Festival, we gave him a challenge: lead a workshop to illustrate the concrete panels of the library terrace. Now we can't wait to see the result.

Paint the walls and help beautify the library by accompanying Loren Bes on this project!
