Located in Saint-Désirat, in the heart of the Rhône Valley, between orchards and vineyards, the Distillerie Jean Gauthier is a jewel of local heritage, passed down from generation to generation. A specialist in fruit brandies, particularly for its famous Williams pear, it perpetuates a unique know-how. The Distillerie Jean Gauthier draws its roots from a family history rich in passion and know-how. It all began with Jean, a farmer, who decided to distill his pears after a harvest damaged by a storm. His son Denis developed the company and founded the Musée de l'Alambic. Today, Romain and Sarah continue this wonderful adventure, enhancing the terroir through exceptional spirits.

New 2025

Distillerie Jean Gauthier, always seeking innovation while honoring its roots, is proud to unveil its latest innovations. We are launching two new liqueurs: a mint liqueur and a verbena liqueur, made with plants grown just 100 meters from the distillery. These creations reflect our commitment to local and respectful production of the terroir, by promoting fresh and carefully cultivated ingredients. In addition, after 20 years without change, our bottles are getting a whole new look! This modernized design combines elegance and tradition, highlighting the history and quality of our products. This visual renewal marks an important step for the distillery, while remaining true to our identity.
