Created in 1926 by Marcel Dumas, listed in the inventory of Rare Art Crafts in 2011, Parcheminerie Dumas, one of the last three in France, is still a family business today, managed by Frédéric Dumas, the small - son of Marcel.
One of the few museums dedicated to Parchment, allowing visitors to discover one of the last three parchment factories in France. The museum space allows you to discover the history of parchment and the profession of parchment maker, registered in the inventory of Rare Art Crafts since 2011, to perfect your knowledge in the work of the skin and to admire the last dryer in Annonay skins, a town known for its know-how in tanning since medieval times. You will get to know the Tannerie Parcheminerie Dumas through its history, the diversity of trades associated with the activity and the varied uses of the finished product. You will watch the making of parchments from the glazed gallery overlooking the parchment.
